Explore the 10 projects that were completed as part of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation (ZSR) Inclusive Public Art Initiative’s inaugural cohort below. For additional information about each project, click on the thumbnails. For simplicity, each thumbnail lists only the name of the grantee; however, each grantee is but one of many community partners that were engaged in each project. Partners are listed on each project’s page and represent the ways in which authentic partnerships and resource-sharing are part of the initiative.
ZSR partnered with PBS North Carolina, which captured and documented the experiences and conversations of all 10 grantee communities as they navigated the process of telling these important stories through public art. Visibly Speaking, a 5-episode series, premiered on Thursday May 5, 2022 on PBS NC and each grantee segment can be found on the project pages linked below. Additionally, each project segment is available in ten digital shorts streaming online, on the PBS video app, and on YouTube. PBS NC also hosted a free virtual screening and a conversation about the series on Tuesday May 10, 2022, with panelists including Inclusive Public Art artists, a ZSR Public Art Advisory Council member and former ZSR Executive Director Maurice “Mo” Green. You can watch the conversation here.
